For most small B2B SaaS companies, Otterly. It starts at $29 a month, watches four AI engines at that price, and is the cheapest honest way to find out whether ChatGPT, Perplexity or Google’s AI answers name you at all. Profound starts at $99 a month for ChatGPT only and 50 prompts; watching three engines costs $399. Profound is built for enterprise marketing teams that can act on a dashboard every week, and is priced for them. Neither tool does the work afterwards: both show you a number and leave the fixing to you.

Vendors change prices and tiers without notice. The figures above are the published prices on the day we checked; the full comparison lists eight tools with the date each was read.
Otterly pricing, in plain terms
Otterly’s entry plan was $29 a month when we checked, with higher tiers adding prompts, users and engines. For a small company the entry plan answers the only question that matters at first: are we named at all, and if so where. If the answer is “never”, a bigger dashboard will not change it; a page that answers the buyer’s question and a listing on the directories the assistants read will (how to do that).
Profound pricing, in plain terms
Profound’s $99 tier tracks ChatGPT only, for 50 prompts. Covering ChatGPT, Perplexity and Google together costs $399 a month, and enterprise plans are quoted. That is sensible for a team that runs weekly content sprints off the data. It is a lot to pay to learn that you are not mentioned.
What neither tool tells you
Both report a number from one run. In our own data, the same buyer question asked to the same assistant on two separate days named the same set of companies only 55% of the time, and 40% on Google’s AI Mode (the figures). A dashboard that updates daily shows that movement as a trend; it is mostly noise. Three runs on three days under a fixed counting rule is what a comparison from one month to the next needs, whichever tool you use.
Where Forty Questions fits
We are not a tool. We measure the same thing, forty buyer questions across ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity and Google’s AI Mode, three times each on separate days, and then do the work the measurement points at: the pages, the listings, the threads. $390 for the audit, from $1,500 a month for the work. If you want a number and nothing else, buy Otterly. If you have a team to act on a dashboard, Profound. If the problem is that nobody will do the work, that is what we sell. The method is public under CC BY 4.0 and the audit we ran on ourselves, which scored zero, is on this site.
